As reported earlier, Polyphony Digital has been toiling away on a special edition of Gran Turismo to commemorate the Volkswagen Lupo GTI Cup 2003. The game is based completely on the Lupo Cup series and hence, only features Volkswagen's Lupo GTI car. The game will be given out at no cost to Lupo-series drivers to aid them in training for the races.

As amusing as all this is, what's of real significance is the fact that the game utilizes the Gran Turismo 4 engine. Well, we've got the first real screenshot from the special disc, and in essence, a limited glimpse at what we can look forward to seeing in the next iteration of the series. It may not be much, but at least it's something. Enjoy!
